The Cardinal's Annual Appeal supports the work of the Catholic Church in the Archdiocese of New York. All funds raised through the Annual Appeal are used exclusively to support the ministries described here. These ministries support our priests from pre-Seminary through retirement. They provide critical support for our parishes, schools and neighbors most in need.
In addition, these ministries touch every parishioner in this Archdiocese through services such as Religious Education, Family Life Programs, and the Marriage Tribunal. Please support the good work of the Catholic Church in New York through the 2008 Cardinal's Appeal.

As an alternative to donating online, give by Pledge or Direct Debit from a Checking or Savings account. Print the attached pledge form by clicking on the image below. Consider making a pledge over 5 months. The daily sacrifice when paying a pledge is relatively small compared to a one-time gift.
If you wish to make a gift of securities to the Cardinal's Annual Appeal, there are several ways of doing so depending upon whether the securities are registered in your own name, or held in a bank custodian account, or in a brokerage account. We have enclosed for your convenience a sample form of a gift letter (Microsoft Word), which may be used to assist in the transfer of securities to the Archdiocese of New York for the Cardinal's Annual Appeal.
1. Securities Held in a Brokerage AccountIf you choose this method, please let us know in advance so that our broker can be alerted to accept the securities and so that we are able to acknowledge your gift properly. A copy of your instructions to your advisor (sample enclosed) is a helpful way to provide this notice. It is also helpful for us to have the name of the brokerage house and the name and telephone number of the person we can contact regarding the gift should there be any problems with a transfer.
Securities held by a broker may be delivered by wire transfer through the Depository Trust Company (DTC) to our brokerage account. 2. Securities Held in a Bank Custodian Account
Many banks have a "gift account" until instructions have been received from the donor. If you wish to make a gift of securities from your bank account, please notify the bank and let us know the name of the bank, and the name and telephone number of the person we should contact regarding the gift.
3. Securities Registered in Your NameThe securities may be delivered directly (registered, if by mail) to the office of our broker who also will need a signed stock power. If sent by mail, the stock power should be mailed separately from the securities, which are freely negotiable when combined physically with the stock power. Our broker's address is as follows:

Matching gift programs are a tremendous way to maximize your generosity. Many companies sponsor matching gift programs to encourage employees to support their charitable institutions. Most programs will match your gift dollar for dollar, and some will even double or triple match a donors' gifts. If your gift is eligible, simply request a matching gift form from your employer, and send it, completed and signed, along with your gift to the Cardinal's Appeal Office.
