After years of dedicated service, the retired priests and religious who have sacrificed so much for our spiritual well-being deserve the best of care. Thus, the Cardinal's Appeal reserves $1.25 million to assist them in their "golden years." While many continue to work, to the extent that they can, especially in parishes and healthcare institutions, all are in need of support in this era of ever-rising costs. The Appeal makes it possible to bring the annual collection for retired religious up to $1 million each year as well assists our retired priests in a multitude of ways, for example, at the John Cardinal O'Connor Residence and the Our Lady of Consolation Residence, where they live in peace and security.
