Each year, the Church calls us to spend the 40 days of Lent as a time to evaluate our relationship with the Lord, to recognize how we may have fallen away from Him, and to make concrete acts of prayer, fasting, and almsgiving to grow closer to Him. Our Lenten journey and the penance that it involves is thus all about purifying our hearts, so that they may be more fully filled by the joy the Lord wants to give us when we arrive at the celebration of Easter.

 

To help you along in your own Lenten journey, the Cardinal’s Annual Stewardship Appeal has prepared a series of ten video-reflections for Lent. They will feature His Eminence, Timothy Michael Cardinal Dolan, as well as members of the Priest Advisory Committee for the Appeal. These videos will accompany you throughout Lent and Holy Week and provide you with essential spiritual nourishment during this sacred time.
