In the West Bronx, an extraordinary Eucharistic Procession took place on June 22 for the Feast of Corpus Christi, drawing over 15,000 people. Despite the extreme heat of that day, people came to process with reverence before the Blessed Sacrament and participate in moments of communal prayer, led in both English and Spanish. This procession was not only a powerful witness of faith to all who saw it on the streets of the Bronx; it was also a potent example of the universality, diversity, and vibrancy of our Church. This remarkable turnout was supported by extensive material efforts and resources that were essential to encouraging participation and guiding the faithful throughout the event.

Seeing the people openly proclaim our faith, that Jesus is present in the Eucharist, that Jesus always walks with us, it was something beautiful…Jesus [was] literally walking through the streets of the Bronx, doing miracles as He did in the past. – Francisco De Leon
